Slim - bio

Slim Palmer started work, at aged 15, as a trainee photo-journalist having his work published worldwide. By the time he was trained, and drained, at age 21, he decided to go and do ‘other things’. Over the next few years he had a variety of jobs - he then joined a Public Relations company.
After several successful years of dealing with local, national and international clients he decided that he’d run away. Not to the circus but near enough - the theatre.
The following years saw him work his way from casual stagehand through stage manager to touring with shows, as stage carpenter, production manager, publicity and even company manager, all over the United Kingdom - he even put shows into London’s West End.
Following an industrial accident he retired from showbiz and went back to his first love - art. He started his own graphic design company in 2000 and was also asked to lecture in design, graphics and software at a local college.
Slim’s first book of novellas, The Albert Tales - based on characters from a web-based cartoon series - appeared in September 2005. Albert Tales Too was published March 2006; Albert The Third was published August 2006 and was short listed for the $10,000 2007 Blooker Prize.
A full length Albert Tale - Kryptos - was published April 2007 and will be followed up by two other books in the trilogy, Skriveners (2008) and Magikings.
Slim also writes under the pen name of Stiofan McAtinney and has produced Operation Brutus to date with another two novels in the pipeline.
Slim Palmer is a member of the Society of Authors, the British Fantasy Society and is a full time writer. He lives in an anomaly of Northumberland.
