Diggory Press... are you there?
August 9th, 2008 |
My Albert tomes and the theatre book that I PODed, ‘Operation Brutus’, are still on sale at Amazon and various other sites throughout the interwebthing and to order at shops.
However the company that I POD through, Diggory Press, seem not to want to take on the next tome of ‘Panto’ as I have been trying to contact them for a month to no avail.
Their web site is still there, they seem to be still touting for business - albeit their last published works seem to be back in April - and I’m told by the printer, Lightening Source, that they are still working for them.
Anyone out there able to enlighten me as to the state of play?
(N.B. Yes I do know about the authors that were taking out a court case against them back in Feb/March but there has been no feedback since.)

August 16th, 2008 at 02:57 PM The only thing I can think of - there must be an injuction halting any information about the case: would of heard something by now. If either side had won...I'm sure their websites would of given the results. But who knows. Self publishing, not the way to go! There the people with your money.
August 16th, 2008 at 04:03 PM As I understand it the Courts system means that once there is a case it is in public record. Unless they are dealing with this 'in camera' (which I doubt). Self Pub is sometimes the only way to go and the money goes to POD - which is not vanity publishing :)
August 28th, 2008 at 04:55 PM Slim, You can find an update on the latest regarding the Diggory Press court action on the link below. I had noticed that the publishing output from Diggory has considerably reduced, and also another Self-publishing Blogsite, which I suspect was being run by someone from Diggory Press, has not been active with any postings since March of this year. It certainly does seem that the courts may have placed some limitations on what the parties involved can openly and publicly comment on. http://mickrooney.blogspot.com/2008/08/update-august-2008-diggory-press-court.html
August 29th, 2008 at 10:44 AM Thanks Mick. You're on my list of blogs to visit but somehow I missed yours the past couple of weeks - you're not alone - as I've been doing other stuff trying to get the next book out.
